fmCustomOptionsText, fmCustomOptionsSelect - Custom Options

Custom Options section allows you to configure your store at the optional level, to define options to be applied to specific products, such as color, size, style as well as additional cost if necessary. Ultimate product options management allows you to quickly add, remove and edit product options in a matter of seconds with few mouse clicks.

You can choose "Add Option Text, File or Data Types" or select "Option Select types" values for highlighted product. You can enter an unlimited number of values.

Custom Options section also allows you to Edit or Delete options either using toolbar or Context menu

Text Option

Magento Custom Options allow to offer specific options on products that are being sold - for example allowing the customisation of an item by adding text.

To create a new Text Option or edit an existing one, proceed through several steps:

1. Click on add new or edit option icon, an edit text option form will appear.
   
   
   
   
2. Specify the following general information:
   
   • Title - This field is required
   • Input Type - Select the way your text options will be displayed on your store: Field or Area.
   • Is Required - Select Yes if this option is required, otherwise select No.
   • Sort Order - Specify a sort order for this option.
   • Price - Specify the price of this option.
   • Price Type - You can select either Fixed value or Percentage.
   • SKU - Specify SKU 
   • Max Characters - Specify the amount of Characters allowed for this option
3. Click Ok to save this entry and to cerate an option, or click cancel to discard this entry.

Select Option

Select is another Magento Custom Options type. To create a new Select Option or edit an existing one, proceed through several steps:

1. Click on add new or edit option icon, the edit option form will appear.
   
   
   
   
2. Specify the following general information:
   
   • Title - This field is required
   • Input Type - Select the way your options will be displayed on your store: Dropdown, Radio Buttons, Check-Box or Multiple Select.
   • Is Required - Select Yes if this option is required or No if not.
   • Sort Order - Specify a sort order for this option.
3. Specify option values - Title, Price, Price modifier type, SKU and Sort Order. You can Add option value using appropriate button , to edit value - double click on it or delete selected option value from your store .
4. Click Ok to save this entry, or click cancel to discard this entry.
   
   

   You can perform such basic operations as:

1. To edit option you can double click on it or use edit option  button. It calls edit option form for highlighted option. Please see below for more details.
    2. You can delete selected option from your store . Pay attention that you won't be able to undo delete from store option unless you've made d-base backup.
    3. To expand / collapse option values use appropriate  icons.

Copy And Paste Custom Options

In order to copy multiple custom options from one product and paste them to another product(s), follow the steps listed below:

1. Highlight any configurable product with custom options
   
2. Go to custom options tab for this product to see custom options
   
3. Select all custom options (CTRL+A)
   
4. Use copy button that you can find on the custom options toolbar - this way you will copy the selected custom options to the clipboard
5. Select category with products where you need to Paste them and select all configurable products to paste custom options
   
6. Use Paste from clipboard button that is next to copy button
